Holika Holika's Premium Sheep Milk Yogurt is a moisturizing wash off pack enriched with sheep milk yogurt. Sheep milk contains lactic acid which acts as a natural and gentle exfoliator, and leaves the skin feeling soft, glowing and revitalized. It also contains green tea which improves appearance of wrinkles and combats acne and inflammation. This face mask is soothing and perfect for dry/combination or sensitive skin.
Directions of use:
Apply a generous amount to a clean face (cleansed and toned), avoiding contact with eyes and mouth to prevent irritation. Wash off after 5-10 minutes with lukewarm water.
I'm not a fan of sheet masks nor am I fond of masks that are thick and covered in chunky bits. It's such a pain to wash off my face to be honest! But when I first opened Holika Holika's Sheep Milk Yogurt face mask, I was thrilled to see that the product was free of chunky bits. The product itself felt like a thick but creamy moisturizer when applied to my face.
Usually with these types of masks, people would slab on a thick layer onto their faces. But I feel like it is such a waste when your skin can only absorb so much moisture and nutrients at a time. So even with a thin layer of this product, it was able to provide more than enough hydration for my skin.
As for the amount of time you're supposed to leave it on for, I'd say that you'll be perfectly fine if you surpassed 5-10 minutes. Since the product is so gentle, I've actually used it overnight and my skin was still fine, only ended up smoother and feeling more hydrated than it previously was.
Since lactic acid acts as a gentle exfoliant to your skin, I noticed that this product does soften the rough and patchy areas on my face. With regular use, I'm sure this product would diminish all the dryness without the need to scrub at it.
The product comes in the form of this cute and small packaging. I love how the tin lid makes it appear like a food jar filled with yummy yogurt, except that it's not edible.
It has a faint perfume scent that doesn't bother me at all. I'm surprised because it doesn't have a sour scent or however yogurt is meant to smell like nor does it smell like green tea either.
On the downside though, I guess the greasiness is a little off putting. It is an oil-based product after all, but at the same time it's not super greasy to the touch and doesn't feel like it's clogging my pores so it doesn't really bother me either. Rest assured, you won't feel the greasiness anymore after washing the product off.
I can't remember the price I got this product for, but I do remember it was fairly affordable for me. I'm pretty sure it was around $15 ~ $20. If this was your only face mask then I guess the amount of product you paid for wouldn't be that worth it since I feel like you can finish the jar off within a month or two. I've probably only used this jar like at least five times or more and I'm roughly halfway through already.
Other than it being very hydrating for my skin, I don't see how it can improve acne or wrinkles since I have close to none to notice it having any effect. Overall, I don't see myself repurchasing this product in the future because it's not convenient to purchase in my country. But this is still a nice product to try out if you have really dry skin.
